Settings reference
Every setting in Aria, what it changes, and when you would want to change it. Open Settings from the gear in the top right of the console.
Church
- Church or service name — appears on your screens.
- Church context — a line describing your congregation, for example "Pentecostal, urban, diverse ages". Aria uses it to fit what it writes and generates to your church. Set once, rarely changed.
Default image
What the main preview shows when Aria opens, before you pick a slide. It does not affect the projector. Remove it to open to a black screen.
Verse detection
- Sensitivity — Balanced by default. Move towards stricter if verses appear that were not really being quoted, towards more eager if Aria misses passages the speaker is clearly reading.
- Default translation — which Bible a detected verse appears in.
Display
The settings that make Aria match your actual screen. Most churches set these once, on the day they install.
| Setting | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Display profile | Monitor, projector, LED wall or TV. A projector in a lit room and an LED wall are not the same surface, and text that is comfortable on one is hard to read on the other. |
| Aspect ratio | Letterbox to 16:9, or stretch to fill. Use letterbox unless your screen genuinely is an unusual shape. |
| Overscan | Some TVs crop the edges of anything sent to them. If your text is running off the side, raise this until it is inside the screen. |
| Image fit | How a picture sits on a screen that is not its shape. See Layouts. |
| Scripture look / lyric look | How verses and song words are presented. |
| Slide transition | Fade between slides, or cut straight. |
| Loop interval | How long each slide holds when a set is looping, for announcements before a service. |
| Logo | Your church's mark, its corner and how strong it appears. |
| Countdown minutes | What a new countdown starts at. |
| Captions | Whether captions are shown, and in which languages. |
| Black on open | Start every session with the screens blank, so nothing appears before you are ready. |
Compliance
Your CCLI licence number, used on the reporting Aria fills in for you.
Account
Plans, billing and signing out. See Account, plans and billing.
Moving computers
For when the church changes machines: it moves your setup across rather than making you build it again.
Connection
Where Aria's own services are running. Do not change these unless support asks you to. They point at this computer by default, and that is correct for almost every church.
